How can we help you?
General Questions
Is Dhamma Mitra free to use?
Yes, absolutely. Dhamma Mitra is a non-profit initiative run by old students. There are
no registration fees, no subscription charges, and no hidden costs. It works on the
principle of Seva (Service) and Dana.
Is this platform official (part of Dhamma.org)?
No. We are an independent community platform. While we follow the principles of
Vipassana (Sila, Samadhi, Panna), we are not officially affiliated with the Vipassana
Research Institute (VRI) or the Dhamma.org organization.
Verification Process
How do you verify accounts?
To ensure the safety of the Sangha, we require details of your last 10-day course
(Center Name, Date, Assistant Teacher). Our volunteers manually review these details. In
some cases, we may ask for a photo of your course completion letter or ask specific
Dhamma-related questions.
Why is my account still 'Pending'?
Verification is done manually by volunteers (Dhamma Mitras) in their free time. It
usually takes 24-48 hours. If it takes longer, please contact us via the help page with
your registration email.
Safety & Privacy
Is my phone number visible to everyone?
No. Your contact details are hidden from
the public and guest users. Only verified, logged-in sadhaks can see your contact number
to connect with you. We strictly prohibit scraping or marketing use.
Can I report a user for misconduct?
Yes. If you feel any user is not following Right Speech (Samma Vaca) or is using the
platform for commercial/dating purposes, please use the "Report" button on their profile
or contact us immediately. We have a zero-tolerance policy.
Offering Seva (Service)
I cannot offer stay, can I still help?
Yes! Offering accommodation is not the only way to help. You can be a "Local
Guide" (providing info on auto fares, food) or help with "Food
Support" (guiding to pure veg places). Every small act of Metta counts.
